Surviving Life in the Past- Torture, Execution and everything not so nice

Surviving Life in the Past-   Torture, Execution and everything not so nice    So you’ve been a very, very bad person or at least someone in power thinks you have been a very bad person.  Well, you have a not so fun time ahead of you.  Torture was an acceptable method to get a person suspected of a crime to confess or obtain additional information about the crime or conspirators.   Anything gathered under the influence of torture was admissible at trial and certainly was acted upon by authorities.  The Church had condemned the practice as early as 866, but it was still used in practice for hundreds of years after this.   However, the Church changed its tune and did use torture in religious inquisitions, the Spanish Inquisition being the most famous example.  Torture chambers and dungeons were a common part of a castle layout and were put to good use.  Torture was seen as a precursor to death by execution in many cases....

The most Botched Execution in History

Image
The most Botched Execution in History     Michael Schiller can go down in history as the most executed man in history. His case is so brutal that we can begin to feel some empathy for him. That is until we hear his story. Here are all the horrid details.     Schiller cannot be described as anything but mean. He was the kind of man that demanded that everyone in his life do things his way or else. He was prone to instant rage and God help whoever was the target of his wrath. Schiller and his wife Mary were Hungarian by birth. They had traveled to the United States to find a better life and settled in Ohio where they opened a saloon that was quite successful.       In 1902, Schiller became upset that his supper was not ready on time, and he beat his wife Mary to the point that she was not able to stand or speak. The Sheriff arrested Schiller for the brutal attack and sent him to prison. Once Schiller was released, he did not return to Ohio right awa...

Today marks the 45th anniversary of the fallen brutal regime

Image
Today marks the 45th anniversary of the fallen brutal regime, in power from 1975-1979, claimed the lives of up to two million people.  Under the Marxist leader Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge tried to take Cambodia back to the Middle Ages, forcing millions of people from the cities to work on communal farms in the countryside. But this dramatic attempt at social engineering had a terrible cost.  Whole families died from execution, starvation, disease and overwork. ultimately led to the deaths of more than 2 million peoples.my whole families more than 50 people killed only my mom my sister and me still have that memory. Whose wanted war.

DAY 275 OF THE WAR

Image
DAY 275 OF THE WAR At 16:00 on the fourth Saturday of November every year, Ukrainians traditionally commemorate the millions who died during the genocide of 1932-1933. Here, @uaexplainers digs deeper in what the Holodomor was and why it still has such resonance. “What is the Holodomor? “Holodomor” literally means “murder by starvation.” It refers to a state-managed famine of 1932-1933 when the USSR starved to death 4.5 million Ukrainians (though other researchers point to up to 7 million deaths). The Holodomor is considered a genocide in Ukraine and is recognized as such in more than 20 other countries. This event had an enormous impact on Ukraine as a society: almost every family in Ukraine has its own story of death and survival from the Holodomor. Today we remember the victims of the Holodomor and other man-made famines in Ukraine. Each household lights a candle near a window to remember those who didn’t survive the famine. How Stalin started the Holodomor In 1928, Stalin declared a...

In memory of Lazaro Figueroa

Image
In memory of Lazaro Figueroa Sitting in her cell is Ana Cardona. The 52 year-old from Miami is awaiting the death penalty - a sentence first imposed upon her in 1992. Ana has attempted to appeal against her sentencing on more than one occassion but has proved unsuccessful. Subsequent re-sentencing took place in 2011 and is she still awaiting execution. The death penalty is viewed by some as a barbaric interpretation of justice, and allowing an inmate to wait over twenty years, instilling fear of an impending death with each day that passes may seem a cruel and torturous act - but even that cannot compare to the heinous crime which Ana herself was found guilty of.  On October 31st 1990, the battered and bruised body of a toddler was discovered among some bushes in Miami. The unknown child, who would come to be affectionately named 'baby lollipops' by police officers, on account of the design on his shirt, was later identified as Lazaro Figueroa - the son of Miami drug dealer, Fi...

MOST FEARED HITMAN IN THE HISTORY OF TRINIDAD

Image
MOST FEARED HITMAN IN THE HISTORY OF TRINIDAD JOEY RAMIAH was one of the most feared men in the the 1990's, he had earned a reputation as a brutal hitman. He worked for at the time the biggest underworld figure Dole Chadee, a drug baron. It all came crashing down for the gang leader and his men when one of his own men turned state witness against him, law enforcement and politicians saw this as their opportunity to finally get rid of chadee and his gang once and for all. Ramiah, formerly of Frederick Settlement, Caroni, was hanged at the Port-of-Spain State Prison on June 4, 1999, along with Dole Chadee and seven others for the murders of four members of a family at Williamsville on January 10, 1994. Hamilton “Mice” Baboolal, his sister Monica, mother Rookmin, and father Deo, were shot dead on the morning of January 10, 1994. Deo was shot dead as he returned home. Mice, Monica and Rookmin were shot in the head, execution style. Mice was a member of the feared Chadee gang. He worked...

A man that was convicted of kidnapping and raping underage children

Image
A man that was convicted of kidnapping and raping underage children  A man named Marc Dutroux. He was born in Belgium in 1956. He was twice convicted of kidnapping and raping underage children. The first time was in 1989. The second time occurred in 1996. That was not a typo - you read that correctly. He was convicted and served a (much too brief) sentence in 1998. He served only 3 and a half years of his 13 year sentence because he was released for good behavior. Less than 10 years later, he was arrested again on the same charges (different victims). In the second round of charges, he was convicted of kidnapping, torturing and abusing victims, some of them to the point of death. What I am about to tell you comes from the statements made by his surviving victims (called the X Files), Marc Dutreox himself, and evidence from law enforcement. I've also added references/citations at the very end of this post. Here we go. Marc confessed to kidnapping, raping, drugging, torturing and fil...
