Komodo dragons are the heaviest lizards on Earth! 


They can grow up to 10 feet in length and weigh more than 300 pounds – that's about the same as an adult gorilla. 

Much like the dragons they’re named for, these lizards are a little scary – here's why 

 Venom glands loaded with toxins that send their prey into shock when bitten. Camouflaged hunting style to attack their unsuspecting prey. 
BIG appetites - they have been known to eat deer, pigs and even water buffalo. 

Originally from Australia, but now found living on just a few islands in Indonesia, these legendary lizards are now threatened by sea level rise. By taking action on climate change, we can help protect these impressive reptiles long into the future.

Iran: Man hanged in public in Gharchak (west of Tehran) 1 man was hanged publicly in the town of Gharchak (Qarchak; Tehran province) early this morning. According to the state run Iranian news agency Fars, a 29 years old man identified as Bakhshali Asgari was hanged convicted of murdering a 9 year-old girl and her grandmother, sexual abuse of the girl and stealing the woman’s jewelry in 2009. The man was hanged publicly at 06:16 AM in front of tens of people. He had also been sentenced to 74 lashes and the sentenced was implemented in the prison yesterday. Based on the reports from the official Iranian sources, so far 35 people have been executed, seven of them publicly, in the month of October 2011
