ISIS 'burn captured Jordanian pilot to death' in sickening video posted on militant group's website

ISIS has posted a sickening video online allegedly showing a captured Jordanian pilot held hostage by the militants being burned alive in a cage.

The unconfirmed footage shows a man wearing an orange boiler suit - apparently pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh who was captured in December - engulfed in flames.

The horrifying video - which was reportedly shot up to a MONTH ago - shows the militants setting the man alight before watching him burn.

Pilot al-Kasaesbeh has been held by ISIS since his fighter jet crashed in ISIS-controlled territory.

Jordan had been working behind the scenes to try to free the pilot in a swap for a jailed Iraqi militant Sajida al-Rishawi .

ISIS demanded the release of Rishawi in exchange for the pilot. Rishawi was imprisoned by Jordan for her part in a suicide bomb attack in 2005 that killed 60 people in the Jordanian city of Amman.

But these new images appear to show al-Kasasbeh being put to death show ISIS have made their horrifying decision.

It comes after a video showing the beheading of Japanese hostage Kenji Goto was released by the hardline group on Saturday.

Goto had been held captive along with Kasaesbeh.

Jordanian government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani said: "We are still ready to hand over the convict Sajida al-Rishawi in return for the return of our son and our hero."

The Jordanians have been under increasing pressure to make concessions with ISIS as public opinion turns against the country's alliance with the US and other western powers.

King Abdullah was quoted after Kenji Goto's murder as saying the "cowardly criminal act" had nothing to do with Islam.
