Mob kill Indian man accused of r@ping 8-year-old



A MAN accused of r@ping and killing an eight-year-old girl was reportedly beaten to death by a group of angry women.


The man, named as Mithun Hansda, was killed near the city of Dumka, Jharkhanda after the body of the missing girl was found in a lake.


The 30-year-old was accused of abducing the girl during a wedding in a nearby village. He allegedly approached her after she and others went to bathe in the lake.


The girl’s family went to look for her and found her body a short time later, India Todayreported.


Angry villagers approached Hansda who denied he was behind the girl’s death earlier this week.


Footage shows the group tying the man up before a group of women repeatedly beat him with sticks.


Police told ANI Newsthat a post mortem will be conducted on both bodies but it was not yet confirmed whether the girl had been raped or not.


It is the second such violent attack by a mob in recent days.


Earlier this week a mentally disabled woman was beaten to death by a mob after she was wrongly accused of being a child kidnapper in West Bengal, India.


Otera Bibi, 42, was tied to a tractor, stripped and had her head shaved by the furious villagers after she was suspected of trying to snatch a 10-year-old girl.


Police dismissed the villagers’ claims that Otera was a child abductor while her husband revealed his wife had been mentally unwell for some time.
